Favorite Netflix Shows

Netflix is one of the best things invented. There is nothing better than turning on the television and binge-watching your favorite show instead of having to wait week after week to find out what’s going to happen. I love that we can watch it whenever we’re ready and at our own pace. Check out my list of favorite Netflix shows.

Top Thriller Movies of All Time

There’s nothing greater than a well written, well directed thriller. You must have the right actors to draw an audience in and scare the crap out of them, and if they don’t hate the villain by the time the movie’s over, then there’s something wrong. I love the suspense and not knowing what’s about to happen. Check out my top ranked thriller movies.

Awesome Thriller Books

Every now and again, we need a good thriller to jolt our systems and keep us on edge. There’s nothing better than a great thriller on a cool rainy day to add to the suspense. I, for one, can appreciate a good list of page-turners. Check out my pick of awesome thrillers!

koontz book

  1. WHAT THE NIGHT KNOWS by DEAN KOONTZ

This book was very creepy, and I couldn’t wait to find out who the killer was. Detective John Calvino’s family is brutally murdered when he is a little boy, resulting in him killing the intruder. Twenty years later, another family is killed the exact same way, only this time he realizes that the man he’s looking for might be a demon on Earth.

Train book

  1. THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN by PAULA HAWKINS

While dealing with alcoholism, Rachel Watson can’t handle the dissolution of her marriage and her life. She drinks heavily and blacks out often, not knowing what’s real and what isn’t. She takes the train home every day and fantasizes about a “perfect” couple she sees often. Then one day, she wakes up with blood all over her. The same day, a woman disappears, leaving Rachel as a suspect. She races against time to find out what happened and learns that things aren’t what they seem and the hard truth is right in front of her.

Murder book

  1. THE MURDER HOUSE by JAMES PATTERSON and DAVID ELLIS

This gruesome novel follows a very old mansion right on the beach that most people try to avoid. Over the years, there have been multiple unsolved murders inside the house and no one can understand why. Detective Jenna Murphy makes it her mission to find out what is going on inside the cursed house after a Hollywood couple is found dead inside. I enjoyed this page-turner and was so surprised by the twist at the end.

Shutter book

  1. SHUTTER ISLAND by DENNIS LEHANE

Two U.S. Marshals are sent to Shutter Island to find a mass murderer who has escaped from an institution for the criminally insane. As an intense hurricane bears relentlessly down on the island, the marshals are forced to piece together clues to a shocking puzzle hidden within Shutter Island, taking them on a dark, twisted journey, where paranoia assumes an air of cool rationality and the line between sanity and madness disappears. This one will have you questioning your own sanity.

Gone book

  1. GONE GIRL by GILLIAN FLYNN

Nick and Amy clearly have different views about each other. When they both lose their jobs and have to move from New York to Missouri, Amy begins to resent Nick for making them move and things spiral out of control from there. When she disappears without a trace, he becomes the prime suspect while trying to find answers of his own. After a tailspin of dead ends, we find out very quickly that Amy is a psycho and poor Nick is the victim.

Top 3 Romance Novels

Romance is necessary. It’s how we feed the soul. Since the beginning of time, we’ve strived to find that special someone who makes us feel wanted and loved. Sometimes the love lasts, sometimes it doesn’t. But no matter who we date, we never tire of being swept off our feet. This was a hard one, but I found my three favorite romance novels.

Fifty book

  1. FIFTY SHADES OF GREY by E. L. JAMES

This erotic phenomena took my breath away. I think every woman in America thought Anastasia Steele was the luckiest fictional character ever created. Meeting Christian Grey by chance is what made her so intriguing. Nerdy school girl meets hot billionaire…can only get better from there. Although his hobbies were a minor setback, it didn’t stop them from falling for each other nor stop him constantly wanting to please her in every way.

Pride, book

  1. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by JANE AUSTEN

A simple misunderstanding can go a long way if you let it. Luckily for Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, they were both able to get out of their own way and find a spark within each other. I love how they both let their guards down in order to let love in.

Eyre book

  1. JANE EYRE by CHARLOTTE BRONTË

Jane the governess and Edward Rochester fall in love in such a natural way. The first time they met, he fell off of a horse. She helped him up, only to find out later that he is her boss. They grow closer after spending so much time together and fall in love. After learning he is still married, Jane keeps true to her morals and leaves, but fate eventually reunites them. At that moment, they are both able to realize how much they mean to each other.

Great Romance Movies

Romance movies have a way of making us wish our lives would play out that way. I mean, what girl wouldn’t want flowers and candy every day followed by a foot rub? We know our lives aren’t that perfect no matter how much we strive to be like the actors in the movies. But nonetheless, they are so much fun to watch  to help us imagine a world of happily ever after. Here’s my list of top 5 romance movies!

Notebok movie

  1. THE NOTEBOOK

I loved Noah and Allie’s love—two people coming from different backgrounds falling in love with each other under the hot summer sun. What I liked most is that their relationship was so relatable. Their arguments and disagreements seemed to make them stronger. When her family insisted she leave and go to college in another state, they were torn apart. Both equally heartbroken, they found ways to live their lives. Noah wrote her every day for a year and Allie always had Noah in the back of her mind until one fateful day when they were reunited and remained to together forever.

Holiday movie

  1. THE HOLIDAY

A friend recommended this movie to me, and I am so glad she did. It’s about two heartbroken women from different worlds who switch houses over the Christmas holiday in order to escape their current situations. While on vacation from their homes, they both find love in the most romantic way and end up having the best holiday of their lives.

Juliet movie

  1. LETTERS TO JULIET

When an aspiring writer, Sophie, and her very busy chef fiancé, Victor, go on an early honeymoon to Verona, Italy, she finds herself alone most of the time until she stumbles upon a courtyard where women write to “Juliet” for answers about their love life. She joins the group of women who answer the letters and ends up answering a letter that was written fifty years ago. The woman who wrote the letter finds her and thanks her whilst planning to find her long lost love. Sophie joins the woman and her grandson on their journey and ends up finding love of her own.

Dance moie

  1. SAVE THE LAST DANCE

A ballet dancer named Sara is devastated after her mom dies in a fatal car accident. She gives up dancing and has to live with her dad in a not-so-safe part of town in Chicago. When she enters a new school, she meets Derek, a guy who happens to be a great hip hop dancer. They become great friends, and he teaches her to dance with more rhythm so that she can get into Juilliard. They are so cute together as they dance their way into each other’s arms.

Titanic movie

  1. TITANIC

Hands down the best romantic movie of all time! Jack and Rose fall in love on the Titanic, and even though we all know the tragic end, their story is inspiring. She is rich, and he is poor, yet that doesn’t matter because they are meant to spend every last moment with each other. I loved how from the very beginning Jack made it his mission to be there for Rose until his last breath.
