We all need to get away, whether it’s only for a week or even for just a day. Stress and everyday life can be overwhelming, leaving us depressed and moody at times. But how amazing would it be to take a vacation and not break the bank? My suggestions for great spots on a budget…
- TUCSON, AZ
Tucson has amazing weather year-round. From museums to vintage shops, there is always something to see and do. Even on a budget, you can have a great time exploring the city and making great memories.
- BILOXI, MS
Located on the gulf of Mexico, this fun-filled spot is best known for it’s casinos. You can also spend your time enjoying their many beaches or exploring the Biloxi Lighthouse. Taking a boat ride around Ship Island is a great excursion you don’t want to forget. The restaurants are exceptional and will leave a lasting impression on you and your family.
- SALT LAKE CITY, UT
Temple Square is a good place to start your journey. You can visit the exquisite Mormon Temple as well as landscaped plazas. Ride the trolley for a city tour or visit the local parks for a relaxing day. There is so much to see that you’ll never be bored.
- AUSTIN, TX
When I think of Austin, I think of Franklin Barbecue. This restaurant is only open during the lunch hour and there is a long line, but it is so worth the wait. There are other delicious restaurants to eat at as well as nice parks to visit. Austin has a lot of things to do outdoors—canoeing on Lady Bird Lake or watching the Congress Street Bridge bats. For night life, one must visit Sixth Street. The entire street is dedicated food, drinks, music, and fun.
- SAN ANTONIO, TX
This thriving city is located in south Texas and is the epitome of a fun time. Whether you’re into Mexican cuisine or barbecue, you won’t be disappointed in the local eateries. The Riverwalk is an amazing place to start. You can take a tour on a riverboat or watch as others pass while enjoying an ice cold beer or margarita. The San Antonio Zoo and Sea World is great for the entire family as well. The hotels are budget-friendly and clean and the weather is lovely.
- THE GRAND CANYON, AZ
The Colorado River runs vigorously through this 277 mile-long canyon. It is something a person needs to see with their own eyes. The breathtaking view is indelible. Staring off into it’s beauty will instantly bring you peace. You can go on Whitewater raft trips or take a ride on a tour bus, either way, this budget-friendly experience is well worth the getaway.
