Top 10 Book Boyfriends

Avid readers like myself can never get enough of a good book. Being able to escape reality and become a part someone’s imagination is one of the most exciting and relaxing things we can do. But I must admit that I will read the same book over and over if I’m drawn to the hot guy in the story. Who can resist a good book boyfriend who is as perfect as a god? Often times, I wish these amazing men were real. I’ve compiled a list of the best book boyfriends a girl can dream about.

  1. Alex Wheatley, SAFE HAVEN

This handsome store owner has everything to offer a girl, especially if she’s trying to escape her dangerous past. His dreamy eyes and caring heart is all Katie needs to feel safe with him. He and his two kids are the perfect puzzle piece that was missing from Katie’s life. I think we can all agree that we would fall deep into Alex’s arms if given the chance.

  1. Augustus Waters, THE FAULT IN OUR STARS

All I can say about Augustus is that he is every girl’s dream guy, even if that dream is short-lived. The first time he meets Hazel, it it’s love at first site, at least for him. She notices him, too, but is more focused on her illness and diminishing future. But his charm and witty personality win her over and together they fall in love and see the world. They enjoy every moment of their lives together and focus on living, up until the very end. He definitely makes the list as an awesome book boyfriend.

  1. Jacob Jankowski, WATER FOR ELEPHANTS

When Jacob loses his parents, his life goes up in smoke. He is penniless and homeless, with nothing to live for until he ends up on a circus train. Suddenly, he is able to find purpose and be a part of something. When he meets Marlena, the star of the equestrian act, he knows she could be someone he could fall in love with. And it just so happens that she needs saving from her mean, heartless boyfriend. The bond they share together with Rosie, the elephant, is what ultimately saves their lives. This Polish heartthrob could save us any day.

Jacob

  1. Edward Rochester, JANE EYRE

Mr. Rochester is very mysterious and intriguing. He and Jane Eyre’s relationship blossoms from professional to a sweet love for each other. Regardless about how plain and obscure she is he loves her anyway. What I really like about him is that he’s his own man and doesn’t apologize for it. But of course, this hunk has a huge skeleton in his closet—he forgets to tell Jane he is married and that his wife is mentally ill. In the end, they realize that the way they feel about each other is stronger than any obstacle thrown their way.

Ed

  1. Landon Carter, A WALK TO REMEMBER

He might be one of the most romantic book boyfriends ever. As a popular high school student, Landon is a little reluctant to take religious church girl Jamie to the dance. But when she says yes, it is the beginning of something beautiful. The time they spend together is uplifting and it takes him no time to fall in love with her. When he realizes that they aren’t going to have a long future together, he gives her the greatest gift of all. He marries her to give her a “walk to remember.”

Landon

  1. Edward Cullen, TWILIGHT

Unless you’ve been under a rock the last twelve years, I think you’ll agree that Edward Cullen most definitely deserves to be on this list. I mean, what girl wouldn’t want the hottest vampire in history professing his undying love for her? Bella Swan notices something strange about the entire Cullen family when she moves to Forks and might be a little scared, but that doesn’t stop her from falling into the arms of this heartthrob, and I don’t blame her.

Edward

  1. Peeta Mellark, THE HUNGER GAMES

From the time they were kids Peeta always had the biggest crush on Katniss Everdeen, and that crush might be what ultimately saves their lives. The last thing on her mind is boys, but when she is thrown into a war, she acquiesces to Peeta’s charms and his zealous need to save her life. His undying love for her makes her realize that she loves him, too.

Peet

  1. Romeo Montague, ROMEO AND JULIET

If there ever was a couple that deserved their happily ever after, it would be Romeo and Juliet. From the time he meets her, he is captivated by her beauty, even if they are forbidden to be together. He fights so hard just to be near her, and the moment he believes she is dead, he can’t take another breath. Forbidden or not, I would take Romeo any day.

Romeo

  1. Kyle Kingsbury, BEASTLY

Kyle is the most handsome and popular guy in school, but his one flaw is that he is very conceited. When he plays a joke on a fellow classmate, she casts a spell, turning him into an ugly version of himself. The only way to break the spell is if he falls in love with a girl who in turn has to fall in love with him. Luckily for him he doesn’t have to look far because he and Linda Owens shared a moment before the spell and when he begins to sweep her off her feet as a beast, they can’t help but fall in love with each other, no matter what he looks like. I love how he is humbled and becomes a true romantic.

Kyle

  1. Noah Calhoun, THE NOTEBOOK

My number one pick for best book boyfriend is Noah. From the moment he lays eyes on Allie he has to have her. It’s as if some invisible force is pulling them together. Even though they come from very different backgrounds, and are torn apart, that doesn’t stop Noah from writing Allie every day for a year. After fourteen years passes, they find their way back to each other and never part again. Noah might be the most romantic book boyfriend of all time.
