Like a Dream

“I am the happiest girl in the world right now. Who knew you would walk into my life and completely change everything? I want to marry you as soon as possible and I don’t want to wait a year. Tomorrow I’m calling my parents and we’ll start planning the wedding.” Cash agreed and leaned over to kiss her again. Before they knew it, they were making out.

When they got home, they ravaged each other like wild animals. The next morning they made love again. Afterward, lying there daydreaming, Alexandria started to feel guilty. “You know, maybe we shouldn’t do this anymore until our honeymoon,” she suggested.

Cash sat up and stared at her. “Are you crazy? I can’t get enough of you. How long will it take to plan the wedding?”

“It will only take a few months. We can get married in July.” She was a little annoyed by his immediate reaction. He made it seem like she’d just told him the world was going to end.

He rolled his eyes and sulked. “But we’ve already been intimate. Why stop now?”

“You’re such a guy,” she laughed. “Listen, it will be hard for me too, but I’m not proud of the way we’ve been using sex as a drug. Think of it as something to look forward to.”

“Great, that’s a long time to wait and a lot of cold showers. What will we do now?”

“We’ll have to find something else to occupy our minds, and bodies.” She sighed and kissed his nose. “I’ll go make breakfast,” she said.

It was hard to get through the next two months of no sex, but they made it. They spent a lot of time doing activities outside and stayed busy planning the wedding. Alexandria was proud that her parents immediately fell in love with him, which she knew they would. To her surprise, her parents insisted on paying for everything. She decided to get married at their house because it was enormous and the perfect place to have an evening ceremony under the stars.

As they said their vows, they freed a lot of untamed emotions, but overall they were tears of joy. Alexandria was ready to be his wife and couldn’t wait to show him how happy he could be. She told herself she would shower him with all the love she had to give. She was very grateful for how her extended family welcomed Cash with open arms. The only person who didn’t have a good time was the dark cloud named Leona. Cash asked her to step in as his mother for the ceremony. She reluctantly agreed, but it was obvious she couldn’t stand the sight of Alexandria.

She tried to ruin Alexandria’s day, but nothing could get in the way of her happiness, especially Leona. Georgia and Collin surprised the newlyweds with a honeymoon to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. It was the perfect getaway to embark on their new lives together. Even though they stayed a whole week, they spent most of their time inside their suite making up for lost time.
