Book review

I recently finished reading the 3rd and final installment of The Heirs of Watson Island series and I thought that overall the story is good and well written. The author did a great job at describing the family’s history and all of the paranormal elements throughout the three books. Barry Watson is the protagonist and it was really easy growing to like her and I found her to be very relatable. When I read stories like this I often wonder if I could befriend the main character in real life and if the answer is yes, I feel that the story is worth reading. With Barry being immersed into haunting secrets and unsolved crimes from her family’s past, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her, but she is a very strong character and wouldn’t stop digging until she found the ultimate truth.

As someone who loves romance, I liked how the author intertwined a romance between Barry and Eight Beaufort. My only nitpick is that I wished the author could’ve beefed up their romance a little more, just to make it seem more real. There were times where it seemed like she threw in a kiss here and there to remind us readers that Barry and Eight were in love instead if building up to it. Having said that this series is a great read and very entertaining.
