Book review

I just finished reading the second novel in the Heirs of Watson Island series called Persuasion by Martina Boone. I was hooked by the first book (Compulsion) and now I’m invested to see what happens next. I really enjoyed Persuasion and couldn’t put it down. What I love the most about the story is the strong connection between the main character, Barrie and her love interest Eight. You can tell how much they adore each other but because there’s a hundred year old curse that was casted on their ancestors, they’re bound to act and think a certain way which bears some intensity and frustration on both parts. Barrie isn’t sure if what Eight feels for her is real or something that is beyond his control whilst he continues to assure her that she’s all he’ll ever need. In the midst of dealing with family history and their own personal demons, they’re pulled together to solve a crime that happened many years ago. I love the supernatural and paranormal elements to the story because it makes it more intense and exciting to see what’s going to happen next. I can’t wait for the third installment this Fall.
