Where the hell does the time go? For the past two weeks, I’ve sat down at my computer, telling myself to get up and do something else but before I know it, I’ve been in the same spot for hours. Sometimes I forget to pee. After a while I’ll realize that I’ve had to pee for like two hours. There always seems to be a million things to do every single day whether its paying bills, writing, researching. I realize that once my first book comes out this summer, I’ll have more time to myself but until then my goal is to pace myself and realize that everything can’t be done in one day–even though life would be much easier if it could. With kids and chores and everything else being piled on, it really feels like Groundhog day.
My biggest concern is not knowing if I’m spending enough time with my kids because they grow so fast. My four year old went to bed last night in these cute hello kitty pajamas and this morning they were high waters. 😦 Pretty soon she’s going to be taller than me and then I’ll be in tears.
There was a study done by Daily Mail.com almost two years ago and it said that the average family spends only eight hours a week together–A Week!
That sounds crazy but I can definitely understand how they came up with that number when you incorporate school, work, and extracurricular activities. We get so consumed with what we have going on that it’s very easy to get caught up in everything else. Just the other day my husband was complaining because he realized that no one was communicating. I was on my smart phone, he was watching videos and our 4 year old was on her kid tablet.
My only argument was that at least we were all in the same room. :D. Regardless, life will pass you by if you let it, so we must be diligent and spend more quality time with family and friends.
Personally, I blame all these fancy gadgets they’ve come out with.
